About Hector

For 16 years, Corporal Hector Martinez has dedicated his life to serving in Jefferson County. Now, he and his family are facing their toughest battle yet, stage four Burkitt Lymphoma and now it’s our turn to stand by him. Hector’s cancer is aggressive and has caused a spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

As Hector continues his treatments, his family is preparing for major adjustments at home. They now have to adapt their surroundings and daily life to support the new reality of using a wheelchair. Anyone who has faced these challenges know how costly it can be from medical needs to making a home wheelchair accessible.

To help his family during this tough time, we created the Heroes for Hector challenge coin. The coin honors his fight against cancer, his courage, and his service. Every coin purchased goes directly to supporting the Martinez family during this time.

As you carry this coin, know you’re helping one of our own. Corporal Martinez, we have your six.
